Enthusiastic and dedicated, I have built a successful career in educational support systems, particularly focusing on parental involvement, community relations, youth and adult development, special programs, and volunteer management. My ability to quickly and accurately assess situations, identify problems, effectively communicate with others, and inspire others to peak performance are skills that have helped me successfully reach over 800 youth, recruit over 1,000 parent and community volunteers, and secure over $1,000,000 in donations and support of student and family programs. I believe that my record is one of solid accomplishments that would serve as an asset within an organization where I can grow, develop, and make an impact. REGISTRAR, AFTERSCHOOL ASSISTANT
March 2014 - Present
Ensured the integrity, accuracy, and security of all academic records of current and former students. Facilitated effective student registration and enrollment. Performed various related administrative duties to include payroll, account budgeting, student and staff attendance and communications.
FIELD DIRECTOR, VOLUNTEER
November 2012 - August 2014
Managed the overall success for recruitment and training of host families, volunteers, American Overseas students, schools and community partners in North and South Carolina, in accordance with the US Department of State policies and procedures.
PARENT AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT COORDINATOR
August 2009 - October 2012
Developed systems, grants, methods, curriculum, and tools to actively involve parents, community members, businesses, and organizations in the work of school-based educational supports and programming.
PROGRAM COORDINATOR
July 2004 - August 2007
Facilitated school programs to increase parental involvement and student performance, decrease absenteeism and behaviors, and engaged community resources to help students successfully learn, encourage them to stay in school and prepare for life.
GRANT WRITING AND MANAGEMENT
Served as sole school grant writer, generating and managing a total budget of $1.5 million in educational grant awards and contributions in the areas of academic supports, culinary and visual arts, physical fitness, and college and career awareness. Established and maintained over twenty partnerships with a specific focus on literacy in conjunction with world-renowned author/activist, Dr. Nikki Giovanni.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIP
Provided professional development training for the South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA) Summer Leadership Institute on community partnership development, service-learning, student and family intervention services, volunteer recruitment, and student program development. Served a two-year term as the school-site leader for the National Network of Partnerships.
VOLUNTEER DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT
Created and executed consistent plans of communication outreach and event marketing to constituents in the promotion of international youth exchange programming and educational partnership events in communities throughout North and South Carolina. Engaged over 500 students and parents in monthly academic and community-based initiatives.
